These are pictures from the areas surrounding Kingston, AR. We are located in the Ozark Mountains (Boston Mountain Range). This area was settled in the late 1800's and early 1900's. These old buildings are sometimes still in use!

This is the old root cellar next to our house.  It needs a roof, but otherwise seems in good condition.

An old hay barn along our county road.  They still use it, but it's empty right now.

I'm not sure if this old cabin is still in use or not ... but it is picturesque.

I LOVE old sheds with rusty tin roofs.

Pastoral view to the right as you head toward our land.

Another beautiful view to the right.

Many people might think that it's an inconvenience to live six miles down a winding dirt county road.  It takes 15 minutes to travel the distance, but I look at it like this: on my way to town or work, it is meditation.  On my way home, it is meditation.  It provides the time necessary to unwind from what might have been a stressful trip and offers a visual preparation for my spirit to face a beginning and/or ending to a day.
